Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 SA Chef Gastronomy Tourism Awards.
It was a joyous occasion as our awards were presented during a Gala Dinner at Makers Landing at the V&A Waterfront!
In conjunction with the inaugural SA Chef Conference & Expo held this year, SA Chef Media’s Gastronomy Tourism Awards were created to celebrate and promote excellence in the culinary tourism sector.
These awards aim to elevate South Africa’s culinary scene and position the country as a prominent player in global gastronomic tourism.

Best in Gastronomy Tourism: Fine and Casual Dining, brought to you by Kerston Foods
The vision of this award is to recognise and celebrate a chef and restaurant that create extraordinary and innovative cuisine, enhancing South Africa’s visibility as a gastronomic destination and attracting both local and international tourists.
And the winner is: The Tangram Restaurant, Durbanville Hills Wine
Best in Gastronomy Tourism: Cultural Dining, brought to you by Rich Products
This award aims to honour a chef and restaurant that encourages the appreciation of local ingredients and elevated but traditional cooking methods, showcasing the diversity of South African culture through cuisine.
And the winner is: Seven Colours Eatery
Best in Gastronomy Tourism: Sustainability, brought to you by Robot Coupe
This award recognises a stakeholder in the culinary and tourism sectors who advocates for and implements viable solutions for sustainable and responsible practices, while enhancing the quality of South Africa’s culinary tourism offerings.
And the winner is: ABALOBI
Best in Gastronomy Tourism: Immersive Experiences, brought to you by Rich Products
This award recognises a chef or restaurant that combines creativity and culinary skills to celebrate regional flavours and traditions, ultimately promoting cultural exchange through food and creating a truly memorable gastronomic tourism event.
